A perfect start for Bud Kawasaki

The Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki duo of Francisco Garcia and Jake Cannon made the perfect start to their French MX2 Elite Championship campaign at Castelnau-de-Levis in south-western France by posting a stunning 1-2 result in both motos.

They had already displayed their speed during morning practice to each head their Qualifying groups and as the track dried quickly in glorious sunshine they dominated both motos. The Spaniard soon took over the lead in race one to claim victory by nearly a quarter of a minute from his Australian teammate and repeated the performance later in the afternoon for a maximum scoreline. Cannon also displayed the speed of the Bud KX250 by taking the holeshot in race two and ended the day with a 2-2 scorecard, headed only by Garcia. The event was a perfect preparation for the upcoming FIM European EMX250 series in which the team will head the Kawasaki challenge over the identical race distance of two motos, each of twenty-five minutes plus two laps.

Francisco Garcia: "That was a really good start to the French championship and also good preparation for the EMX250 later this month. It was a real hardpack track but also technical; that's what I like. J and I were both riding good already in the training. I had a  little arm-pump towards the end of the first race, but that is normal at this time of the season, and I was really happy with my speed in both motos today."

Jake Cannon: "This was our first race this year on hardpack so I had a little arm-pump but we are moving forward from my first season in Europe last year. After taking the holeshot I even led for a few laps in the second moto until I made a few mistakes with line-choice, but we're ready for EMX so let's see how it goes in Spain in a few weeks."
